One Nation Under God

Limited Series

Genre: Historical Drama

Logline: The importance of God to the United States is something that the Founding Fathers held dear to their hearts and it’s time to uncover the truth through their eyes by going back in time to the very beginning of the Judea-Christian nation.

Synopsis:

Only 5% of history is taught in public schools. The reason is not often discussed, but the truth is in the writings of those who lived it. The majority of the writings from the Founding Fathers on the United States of America, along with their wives and associates, include the importance of God to the survival of the new nation.

The story begins in Boston, Massachusetts where a young George Washington and Henry Knox faithfully pray in a small little bookshop. They hold vigil over scriptures, with King George III’s decrees below their Bibles. The mood is somber, but they know that they have no choice. Henry’s young bride, Lucy, sheds tears as her father hangs signs around town labeling her new husband and his friends as traitors to the Crown with the order to hang upon capture. The women sew weapons into their dresses, stealing from the British troops. The group all flee into the night on horseback, preparing to plan for battle.

The revolution picks up speed as the first shots are fired. The men continue to pray and sing hymns at night, trying to keep the Spirit of God with them so that they may win this war. It drags on, hope begins to decrease as they realize the British are the majority. They feel there is no way to win the war. General Washington fights to get their faith back, claiming he saw a vision from the Angel of Liberty that they will win and what the new nation will look like once the war is won. It restores their faith.

The war is won, now it’s time to establish the new nation. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton and the other founders have no idea how to start. They all have different opinions regarding the laws and how God should be included, with the premise that if God ever leaves the United States, the young nation will fall. They refer to Lucy Flucker Knox and several of their wives on what is important. They write the Articles and Amendments for the United States constitution under constant prayer. The first Congressional meeting is held, beginning with a 3 hour prayer to open the meeting.

The citizens begin to take issue with some of the Amendments, needing clarification on the meanings. Benjamin Franklin is quite blunt in his replies, to those questioning God’s importance to the land by telling them to leave to godless lands while Thomas Jefferson assures the people that churches are run by man and can be corrupted, whereas God is perfect and essential to the foundation of a sturdy nation. People rumble over the treatment of slaves and natives. Benjamin Franklin echoes Jefferson’s words of man being corrupt, but all men will answer to God, even womanizers like himself. The foundation of the nation is the God of the Bible and the Torah. The founders lament that if God is ever chased from schools, public squares and the government then the United States will be as corrupt as every other nation on Earth and chaos will reign to the point that the citizens would be in danger.

History begins to move rapidly, as Godly laws are overturned. The 1962 Supreme Court of the United State rules that prayer is banned in public schools and the 1963 SCOTUS rules that religious texts have no place in a public school. In 2005, SCOTUS rules that religious artifacts are only permitted in public squares if it doesn’t force religious beliefs. The Satanic Temple begins suing over every righteous law, attempting to force God out of the United States by placing Satanic imagery in public places and creating school clubs that honor their dark master.

Time passing proves that as God is being forced out of the United States, mass shootings are going up. People are protesting violently rather than peacefully. Everything is chaotic as the Founders promised the nation is would be when they were alive. There is one solution, to become One Nation Under God, once again so that peace can reign under a Godly nation that honors Jewish and Christian traditions.
