Synopsis:
Several millennia ago, an ancient and immortal people roamed the Earth. They were called the Allon, meant to guide mortals in their evolution. One amongst them disagreed, Renius, who thought the lowly mortals should be slaves to the Allon. He and his followers were exiled to spend an eternity on Earth, while the Allon took to the sky and made their home at the far reaches of the solar system. They would reside there until the time came when they could finally return.
Over the ages, the Allon would take missions to Earth in order to determine when the mortals would accept their return. An accident forces them to return sooner than planned, when Vonius is killed during a mission. They use their science to replant his spirit into a stillborn mortal baby named Mike. As he grows up, the child has foggy memories of another life. Never quite feeling like he belongs with nightmares of Renius throughout human history plaguing his dreams.
Mike is weird. An outcast. Bullied. He always says the wrong thing, though doesn’t mean to offend. This continues throughout his college education. He’s ridiculed or most people stay far away from him, not sure what to make of the man with strange, bright turquoise eyes. His first friend comes through transfer student Jim, who takes it all in stride. He’s willing to learn and even encourages Mike to go after Levita, a young Black woman that quickly falls in love with him. Upon seeing Mike’s finally made friends, the Allon return to Earth.
As the years go by, Levita and Mike welcome a little boy, Benius. The Allon begin their mission in teaching the willing mortals, forgetting about Renius lurking and still awaiting his revenge. He frames the Allon for a terrorist attack, making them seem like violent extraterrestrials. The governments of the world advise people to stay away from them, Mike is fired from his job as a professor and Levita worries about how they will protect Benius.
The Allon are determined to prove mortals are being guided by fear. Mike, Jim and the Allon go to face Renius head on, while Levita moves her child to safety in the Allon fortress and begins to help with the research to expose Renius. The fight that Renius has been waiting millions of years for comes to a head. He’s always one step ahead of his enemies. Nearly drowning them and killing the Allon high council. They get away in the nick of time, news cameras capturing Renius sinking into the ocean with his submarine.
He will be back. Mike, Jim and the Allon know it. Only this time, the world knows he exists and will be plotting against all who resisted him. Not just the Allon. For now, Mike is permitted to go back to work and Levita returns home with Benius. Their marriage is now on the rocks as she contemplates if her child will ever be safe while the world wonders when Renius will resurface.
