Genre: Drama

Logline:

A woman refusing to accept the past finds it haunting her in a place where she believed she would finally be left alone.

Synopsis:

Clara arrives at a cabin in the middle of nowhere, believing she will be alone. She quickly meets a strange man, Robin, and becomes afraid for her life when she finds shredded, bloodstained clothes hidden beneath a floorboard. She feels trapped and becomes desperate to escape, but is unable to flee from the cabin. Panicking, she stabs Robin. He is determined to make her remember that he is not the villain she thinks he is, but her husband that she has chosen to forget after the death of their small daughter.

After their fight, Clara begins to hear voices floating throughout the house almost as if the ghosts from her forgotten past are determined to make her remember the life she forgot. She wants to block these voices from her mind, but dreams and flashbacks begin making their way into her mind the more she is around Robin. He will do anything to force her mind to remember him and their deceased 5-year-old daughter, Charlotte.

Her memories finally clear up and she wants to run. She doesn’t want to remember that Charlotte was mauled to death by a bear in the middle of the night nor how alone she felt right after the funeral. She blames Robin for Charlotte’s death and finally leaves the cabin, determined to once again run from the painful truth.

Robin chases after her. She comes back before him, this time unable to block their life from her mind. In almost a trance, Clara takes a bunch of pills and drowns herself in the bathtub. That’s where Robin finds her. He can’t revive her. Unable to live without Clara or Charlotte, he takes a pistol and kills himself over Clara’s body. The cabin is left dusty and dark. It remains this way until the door opens and Clara enters the room. Just like when she first entered the cabin, she goes upstairs and soon Robin enters the cabin. Everything has reset, with the echo of a child’s laughter in another plane of existence. Outside the cabin sits 3 graves, indicating that Clara and Robin are ghosts who are stuck in an eternal loop that is replaying their last moments on earth, unable to find the light that will lead them to Charlotte.
